Medical Biller- Somerset, NJ

A leading pain management practice is looking to outsource their billing department and is seeking medical billers to join their growing team located in Somerset, New Jersey.

Responsibilities: 

1. Insurance Claims Processing: Accurately preparing and submitting medical claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.

2. Medical Coding: Assigning appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records to ensure proper billing and adherence to regulatory requirements.

3. Billing and Invoicing: Generating and sending invoices to patients for services rendered, as well as coordinating payment plans when necessary.

4. Payment Posting: Recording payments received from insurance companies and patients, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy.

5. Claims Follow-up: Proactively following up on unpaid or denied claims, communicating with insurance companies to resolve issues, and resubmitting claims as needed.

6. Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of billing activities, including patient information, services provided, and payment history.

7. Compliance: Adhering to healthcare regulations and guidelines, such as HIPAA, to safeguard patient privacy and ensure ethical billing practices.

8. Customer Service: Providing assistance and addressing inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives regarding billing matters.

Requirements: 

1. High School Diploma
2. Certification in Medical Billing
3. Associates Degree preferred
4. Experience with ECW preferred
5. 3+ years of medical billing experience
6. Knowledge of orthopedics and spine preferred
7. Knowledge of handling NJ and NY PIP and WC preferred
