Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Rego Park, NY
The NP/PA will collaborate closely with a spine specialist to provide comprehensive care to patients in an outpatient setting. This role includes diagnosing and managing spine-related conditions, conducting patient evaluations, and coordinating treatment plans with a focus on spine health and wellness. The position offers a structured 5-day work week with full support staff, including administrative support assistants, medical assistants (MA), coordinators, and front desk personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests related to spine health.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, therapeutic procedures, and patient education tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with the spine specialist and multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensuring seamless transitions between outpatient visits, pre-operative evaluations, and post-operative care.
- Provide patient education on spine conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies, emphasizing patient empowerment and self-management.
- Document patient encounters accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols.
- Participate in practice development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and continuing education to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications, adhering to state regulations and professional standards of practice.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in New York State (NYS).
- Experience working with spine-related conditions preferred; new graduates with a strong interest in spine care will also be considered.
- Fluent in Spanish with the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and colleagues.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
