Intraoperative Neuromonitoring technologist - Long Island

Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Operative Preparation:
- Review patient records and surgical procedures to assess neurophysiological risks.
- Set up and calibrate neuromonitoring equipment (EEG, EMG, SSEP, MEP, etc.).
- Position electrodes on the patient for monitoring.
Intraoperative Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor and record neurophysiological data during surgery.
- Provide real-time updates to the surgical team about nerve function.
- Adjust monitoring parameters and notify the team of abnormal readings.
Data Interpretation & Communication:
- Identify signs of potential nerve damage.
- Document findings and communicate with the surgical team.
- Produce post-operative reports summarizing data.
Post-Operative Care:
- Safely remove electrodes and disconnect monitoring equipment.
- Analyze intraoperative data for patient stability.
- Support recovery and ensure follow-up care for any abnormalities.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Calibrate and maintain monitoring equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure backup systems are available.
Education and Training:
- Stay updated on neuromonitoring techniques and equipment.
- Participate in training sessions for the surgical and anesthesia teams.
Compliance and Standards:
- Follow hospital and regulatory standards for patient safety.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
CNIM Preferred but not required
Will have to take call
They will handle spine, Ortho, vascular, ENT cases with minimal trauma. Looking for someone ideally to hit the ground running but open to seeing newly trained as well
Will provide travel expenses-tolls, parking, some mileage depending on travel time for day
