Cardiac Ultrasound Tech - Cedarhurst, NY


The Cardiac Ultrasound Tech will play a crucial role, performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures including echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound studies. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic results and exceptional patient care. The role will require flexibility in scheduling, including rotation through weekend shifts as part of the regular work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations, including echocardiograms and vascular studies, adhering to established protocols and ensuring high standards of image quality.
  2. Collaborate with medical staff to review patient histories, clarify orders, and discuss preliminary findings to optimize patient care outcomes.
  3. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Assist in the maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functionality and quality assurance.
  5. Educate patients on procedures, answering questions and addressing concerns to enhance their understanding and comfort.
  6. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) required; RDMS certification in sonography considered.
  • Proven experience in performing cardiac, echo, or vascular ultrasound procedures preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing clinical environments.
  • Willingness to travel to satellite offices and work rotating weekend shifts as part of the regular schedule.
